Once your order is ready for delivery, the delivery driver will call you to schedule a delivery time. Delivery is only possible on business days (Monday to Friday).Important: The commissioned delivery driver will deliver your order to the first door of the building. If you live in an apartment building, this means the front door of the building. In other words, they will not carry the items to a different floor. In some cases, the delivery driver may help you carry the order into your home, but this is not required and the driver is simply doing this to be helpful. Your Washtower cupboard will be delivered as a whole (pallet + order).

How heavy is the package the standard washing machine cabinet is delivered in?

Out of which material are cupboards made, chipboard or MDF?

Our customers often ask us about the material used to make the cupboards at Washtower and whether this material is suitable for the combination of weight and vibrations of a washing machine. Our cupboards are made of high-quality board material (chipboard) with a melamine coating. In developing our cupboards, we conducted a material study to determine the most suitable type of board for the cupboard. As part of this, we contacted various major and well-established European manufacturers of kitchens and bathrooms for information. We learned that all of them use chipboard and not plywood or MDF.High-quality board material has a high compression strength and consists of fibres. These fibres are most suitable for strong screw connections. This type of material is flexible and the connections won&rsquo;t break due to vibrations, which will actually be absorbed. MDF, on the other hand, is made of compressed fine sawdust, so the connections will be very vulnerable due to vibrations. MDF is a rigid material that transmits vibrations rather than absorb them. A durable screw connection is not possible with MDF or only in combination with a pre-glued plug. Our protected cupboard construction makes sure that the cupboard absorbs the vibrations caused by the washing machine. Thanks to the combination of material and construction of the washing machine cupboards at Washtower, we boast the highest quality standard in Europe: T&Uuml;V certification. This means that we can claim with pride that our cupboards are 100% safe!

Is the cupboard material moisture-resistant?

Accepted Answer

The cupboard frame is made of 22 mm thick high-quality chipboard. The top layer is coated with melamine (as used in the kitchen, bathroom and furniture industry) and the edges on the front are protected from scratches and impact damage by edge reinforcement. We have also developed a special metal base plate that comes with every basic cupboard. It is placed under the machine and acts as a protective layer: if the machine leaks, the water runs onto the plate and not directly onto the wood. This way, the moisture does not come into direct contact with the cupboard, keeping it protected. Thus, our cabinets are moisture resistant but not waterproof. When used in a damp room (e.g. bathroom or basement), it is important that good ventilation is possible, so that the cabinets do not remain in a damp environment for a long time. Good ventilation is defined as: an open window or mechanical ventilation in combination with an open window.

No, the WSCS1462 and the WSTT185 do not have a back panel. The back of the cabinet is completely open. This is a deliberate choice and offers several advantages.The open back makes it easy to connect the washing machine and dryer to the tap, the drain and the sockets. The hoses and cables also stay easy to reach when maintenance or an adjustment is needed.The open back also leaves enough room around the connections, so the cabinet can be placed neatly against the wall without pipes or plugs getting in the way.

Yes, fitting an integrated fridge or freezer is possible in a tall cabinet 60 cm wide (with an internal width of 56 cm). There are a few conditions to bear in mind, particularly around the recess dimensions and the ventilation.

Yes, Washtower® washing machine cabinets can stand on virtually any firm, level floor, such as concrete, tiles, vinyl, laminate or a poured floor. What matters is that the floor can carry the weight of the cabinet, the washing machine, the dryer and the laundry.For a safe, stable setup we advise always levelling the cabinet. The adjustable feet make it easy to compensate for small irregularities in the floor. This contributes to a stable construction and helps limit unwanted vibration during the spin cycle.

Yes, in principle you can spray or paint a Washtower® cabinet. Do bear in mind that the cabinets have a high-grade factory finish. Painting or spraying over it can affect the appearance, the wear resistance and the maintenance of the surface.Good preparation is essential for the best result. Clean and sand the surface according to the paint supplier’s instructions and use a primer and topcoat suitable for furniture panels.

Every Washtower® base cabinet comes with a special metal base plate as standard, designed to protect the cabinet against moisture. If water should ever leak from the washing machine, it lands on the metal base plate first rather than directly on the wood of the cabinet.

Can I make a cut-out in the cupboard?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can make a cut-out wherever you need it. If, for example, you want to have the faucet next to the cupboard, you can make a cut-out in the side of the cupboard for the water supply. The base plate ends at the wall. If the water supply extends slightly above the floor, you can easily make a notch in the base plate for connecting the water supply hose.

At what height does the faucet, drain, etc. have to be installed?

The ideal height for the tap and drain depends on the type of washing machine cabinet. Placing the connections at the right height stops hoses kinking or coming under tension, and means the cabinet can be positioned neatly.Always measure the heights from the finished floor, so including tiles, vinyl or any other floor covering.Recommended installation heights for Washtower® washing machine cabinets:Base cabinet (WSCS1462): fit the tap and drain preferably at 120 cm from the finished floor.Washtower® tower (WSTT185): fit the tap and drain preferably at a height between 60 and 80 cm from the finished floor.

Where do I find the assembly instructions?

The installation instructions are always included in "package no. 1". With the basic cupboards, the contents of packages no. 1+2 are needed to assemble the cupboard (but this does not have to be done where the cupboard will be placed). The contents of package no. 3 are needed to finish the final components of the cupboard and to place it in its permanent location. Does the faucet fit inside the cupboard and behind the washing machine?

Yes! A compact and flat wall faucet fits behind the washing machine. An example can be seen here. If you have a different type of wall faucet, there are three options: You can choose to turn the faucet a quarter of a turn, so that everything stays concealed in the cupboard. You can place the faucet next to the cupboard, so that you can easily access it. You can install the cupboard 5cm from the wall, so that there is a 10 cm-wide space for pipes. Can you put a dryer on the washing machine without a stacking kit?

No, we advise never putting a dryer on a washing machine without a stacking kit. During the spin cycle, vibration can make the dryer shift, with all the risks that brings. In a Washtower® washing machine cabinet the appliances stand firm and safe, thanks to the unique construction and the built-in anti-tip device.

Which package are the screws in?

All the screws and fixings you need to assemble your Washtower® cabinet are supplied as standard. Exactly where you find them depends on the collection you ordered. With the Signature Colour Collection the screws are in package 1, in a separate bag or box, usually alongside the assembly instructions. With the Exclusive Colour Collection the screws and other fixings are supplied in a separate box, together with the other packages.

The assembly instructions are supplied as standard with your Washtower® cabinet. Where they are depends on the collection you ordered. With the Signature Colour Collection you will find the assembly instructions in package 1. That is the main package with the most important parts of the cabinet. How do the adjustable feet work, and what height is the cabinet fully extended and fully retracted?

The adjustable feet under your washing machine cabinet let you level the cabinet, even on a floor that is not completely flat. By turning the feet in or out you adjust the height precisely at every corner.

Can I fix a Washtower® cabinet to a plasterboard wall?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can, provided the cabinet is fixed firmly to the load-bearing structure behind it. It is not safe to fix a Washtower® cabinet into plasterboard alone. A washing machine and dryer cause vibration and dynamic loading during the spin cycle. Combined with the weight of the cabinet and the appliances, these forces can work a plasterboard-only fixing loose over time. For a safe installation we therefore advise always fixing the cabinet to a solid structure behind the wall.

No, we do not currently offer an assembly service. Our cabinets are designed specifically for straightforward self-assembly. Every package comes with a clear printed assembly manual, and our website has instructional videos that take you through the build step by step. Most customers put their cabinet together without any trouble.

Yes, you can fit a sink into a Washtower® base unit without a drawer. Why does my washing machine vibrate?

Accepted Answer

A washing machine usually vibrates because of an unbalanced drum, a machine that is not level, a springy floor, or transport bolts that have not been removed. Worn shock absorbers or bearings can cause vibration too. By fixing the cause and placing the machine steadily, you reduce vibration and stop the washing machine from walking across the floor. Washtower® washing machine cabinets help reduce vibration thanks to the stable cabinet-in-cabinet construction with a continuous base plate.

What can you do about a washing machine that walks?

You stop a washing machine from walking by levelling the machine, adjusting the feet properly, spreading the laundry evenly and removing the transport bolts (on a new machine). If the machine still moves, a springy floor or too little stability may be the cause. A Washtower® washing machine cabinet gives extra stability thanks to the solid cabinet-in-cabinet construction with a continuous base plate, which directs vibrations downwards effectively.

Thanks to the high-grade materials and finish, they cope well with the normal humidity that comes with that.Do bear in mind that the cabinets are not fully waterproof. So avoid the cabinet being in direct contact with water for long periods, or placing it in a room with constant condensation or standing moisture.Every Washtower® base cabinet also comes with a metal base plate as standard. It is worth weighing up the drawbacks too, such as noise while you are cooking or eating.

Yes. The WSCS1462 is developed specifically to absorb the vibration of a washing machine steadily. The cabinet has a continuous base plate on which the washing machine stands, and it is built up further from this sturdy base. Thanks to this construction, the vibration that arises can be absorbed by the material and directed downwards through the cabinet. That keeps the washing machine standing steadily in the cabinet, including during the spin cycle.

No. Every basic cupboard is delivered with four large wall brackets and four 6 cm bolts, so that you can be sure that your cupboard is securely anchored to the wall.

Absolutely! The cupboard (WSCS1462) has undergone load testing by T&Uuml;V Rheinland for up to 120 kg. The 22 mm-thick base plate on which the washing machine is placed can withstand loads of up to 120 kg. The sides of the cupboard also serve a reinforcing function and the cupboard construction is designed to absorb the vibrations of the washing machine and dryer.

Is the washing machine cupboard strong enough?

Accepted Answer

The cupboards at Washtower obtained the German T&Uuml;V-certification. Our cupboards have been tested by T&Uuml;V Rheinland for their mechanical and functional safety, as well as user-friendliness. This makes the cupboards at Washtower the first and only washing machine cupboard in Europe with safety certification. This certification also guarantees the strength of the cupboard.

Can the washing machine fall out of the cupboard during the spin cycle?

No. With a correctly assembled Washtower® cabinet and a properly installed washing machine, that should not happen.
